Gabriela Sosa

Gabriela Sosa was raised in Panama and fled to the United States during the Noriega regime. She attended UCSC, where she received a B.A. in Politics and Environmental Studies, the Université Libre de Bruxelles for an M.A. in Environmental Law & Management and the Diplomatische Akademie Wien for a M.S in International Economics. It was upon her return to California, after five years working in the Panamanian Foreign Service, that she resumed her career in the Dramatic Arts – attending the American Conservatory Program and the Lee Strasberg Studio. She also studied Film and TV production at LACC while hosting a tech show, “Ventana al Futuro” on Univision/KMEX’s morning news program, “Primera Edición.” It was her thesis film, NATO/OTAN that got her noticed in the entertainment industry as a writer/producer/director as it was selected for the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF) in 2005. Since then she has produced four seasons of “BodogFiGHT” and received an Emmy™ for the Oscar™-nominated documentary “Which Way Home.” Since then Gabriela has merged both passions, environmental protection and the arts to spread awareness about anthropogenic climate disruption, touring with her one-woman-show “Love in the Time of Taksim” based on her first novel.

Green Culture is a platform for exchanging innovative, educational experiences and a network of collaborators from the cultural sectors of the Western Balkans.
