MADE IN LOCKDOWN
Boom is a story set in the mind of Dot, a young woman struggling with her mental health.
In a fairy-tale like fashion it follows her on her journey through her dark mind until she has a 'Boom' moment and realises she can come to terms with the trauma that she has been through.
Made entirely in lockdown 'Boom' is a tale about grief, loss, acceptance and ultimately love.
I entered the media profession as a fashion and portrait photographer and moved into directing music videos and commercials.
I started a London based production company with three partners. The first (and last) film the company made was Before the Rain. It was nominated for Best Foreign Film at the Oscars.
Moving to South Africa, over the next 15 years I set up a number of creative ventures in film, commercials, tv production in South Africa. I worked as producer, writer, director and director of photography and a festival and live events executive producer.
Along the way that included working with BBC Worldwide, DSTV, MNET, Carlton TV, Naspers, Conde Nast, Polygram.
In 2002 I left the media industry to pursue other interests and start a family.
As this progressed I found myself drawn into circus and physical theatre, which led to the creation of Jump Fall Fly Productions, a production company named after the book my partner and BOOM co director wrote about alternative education.
I also work in behavioural health as a facilitator and coach trainer; write articles and run masterclasses for professional coaching bodies.

Through our work we aim to inspire individuals to improve our collective current situations. We believe artists are needed now more than ever in these perilous but exciting times.
